I'll rather have God.

Most persons that were mentioned in the Bible living by faith, pleasing God and righteous men had one thing in common.

The Birth of Jesus Christ.

Their purpose wasn't selfish or in wealth acquisition. It fitted into the coming of Jesus Christ.

As Christians today, our purpose should be in line with the extension of the Kingdom of God until Christ returns.

This world can't satisfy us. We can't satisfy ourselves.  Only God can.

We need to set our life compasses focusing on God.

It profits nothing for us to have all the comfort and luxury then lose God.

Truth!

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ brings liberation and freedom.  The Scriptures say in John 3: 32 "ye shall know the truth,  and the truth shall make you free. Jesus is the Truth.

The more we come into the knowledge of God the more we are free of every weight that easily besets us.

We are free from sexual immorality, lies,  failures,  fear and every sin.

The more truth we know the more freedom we have. Truth isn't suppose to cage is,  it is to free us.

We are free because we know the Truth.

FruiT

The very first blessing man was given is fruitfulness and multiplicity in Genesis 1:28.

Man here refers to every person both male and female.  You are to bear forth fruit. Not just any fruit good fruits.

I don't refer to apples and banana but rather spiritual fruits.

The fruits of the Holy Spirit according to Galatians  5:22 are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

These fruits cannot exhibit themselves outside of the Spirit of God.

How do I worship

God is looking for worshippers who will worship him in Spirit and in truth.

The worshipper who lives a life led by the Spirit of God.

A worshipper who follows the Truth and seeks the Truth.

We cannot worship God outside of God.

We have to be in God to worship God.

Our Generation must be Spirit led and Truth seekers.

Sir David

The Psalmist David found a way to worship God that brought him closer to God than most men of his age and at that time.

His life was a worship unto God.  His words,  his success,  every act was in reaction to God's disposition.

When he did wrong,  he knew he had to turn to God.

Like David,  let's honour God with our lives and in decisions we make...

We are not alone.

Good Night

I thought of what to post today.

It was not funny.

I stayed awake longer than usual.

No caffeine.

I perused my brain and searched my heart.

It came.

Live.

When Christ gave us life it is for us to live.

Live for Christ.

Your days are long and sorrows many.

Live.

Your days are short and joys little.

Live.

You are tired.

Live.

You are broken.

Live.

Don't live a little.

Live Christ.

Why die?

Let me just die.
I'm tired.
I give up.
I can't take it any more.
Why me?
Nobody cares.
I'm a failure.
I can't make it.
If I die no one would notice.
It's all my fault.

These are a few out of the so many depressing and damaging statements people make to themselves before committing suicide or while depressed.

If you notice the words they are personalised- me,  I and so on. This places such person in a self position.

It has become all about you.  You feel no one is interested in you or you are alone.  The weight seems to be pulling only on you...

That moment when the first nail got hammered into him,  Christ would have felt a deep, never ending throbbing, brain splitting pain. He went through all that pain so you could live. He had horrible moments worse than any man has ever endured but he pulled through.

He is sitted at the right hand of God the Father because he never succumbed.

Next time when you feel low, be familiar with statements like.

The joy of the Lord is my strength.
I shall overcome.
For with God all things are possible.
Jesus loves me.
The Holy Spirit will comfort me.
I have the peace of Christ.
I will prosper and be in health.

If we give up or fear losing....  We wear out our faith.  Faith is what keeps us alive.

So I lied.

Lie your way through.

There's nothing wrong with a white lie.

Everybody lies.

These are few of the excuses we give ourselves, every time we intend to deceive someone or supposedly protect the truth.

The Yorubas say oun ti o daa  o da ko l'oruko meji (what is wrong is wrong it cannot be given another name).  The interpretation of this is that you cannot always make excuses for your wrongdoing.

The Bible condemns lying and even refers to the Devil as the Father of lies. John 8:44, Revelation 21:8

People get hurt when a lie is told,  you have to cover a lie with another lie.

We are truth seekers and hence should desist from lies.

Tell the truth.

Creed

Today, I just want to bring us to remembrance of our ESSENCE as Christians. There are certain basic Christian beliefs that cannot be changed or dealt away with.

The Trinity- God the Father,  God the Son (Jesus Christ also known the Word of God)  and God the Holy Spirit. 1John 5:7

The coming of Jesus Christ to earth to redeem man. John 3:16

The need to believe in Jesus as the Redeemer and Saviour of man, failure of which there is a consequence John 3:16

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Mathew 28:7

The commission of preaching the gospel. Mathew 28:19-20

The coming back of Jesus Christ. Matthew 26: 64

We are not to be ashamed...  This is Christianity.  This is our belief.

FEAR/FAITH

That split second when your heart doubles its beat, you can't tell if you are breathing or not as sweat breaks on your forehead leading your hand to reach out for a grip.
Your ears are deaf to your surroundings as your eyes shine, wide opened.
With a mouth gaped open, you feel a deep sense of a sinking hole in your heart.
You hit the chair, ruin the curtain folds and stiffen.
You are scared.
Fear.

There is a deep sensation within you that gives a feeling of life in your hands.
Your eyes water as you rub the end of your nose.
A smile cuts across your face that leaves the dimples a place to stay.
You hear a still calm voice in absolute silence.
You raise your pillow, pick up the Bible and read.
You are encouraged.
Faith.

The 'god' challenge part 2

The one thing given to man that could make or mar him is the WILL POWER. The power to choose between right or wrong, good or evil, yes or no. What you choose is totally up to you.

There's every possibility that a man raises himself above God and the precepts of God. When you become a law unto yourself, you endanger yourself more than you protect yourself.

Our lives should be in submission to God.  The bride of Christ (wife) which we are should be submissive to Christ(husband).

Obedience is better than sacrifice.
